Beacon Hill Financial has partnered with a local client in Elkridge, MD in their search for an Accounting Manager to join their team. This hybrid position plays a key leadership role in managing accounting operations and overseeing staff responsible for payables, reconciliations, and general ledger activity. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of GAAP, a proactive mindset, and experience supervising accounting functions in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and provide daily oversight to Accounts Payable staff, the Accounting Coordinator, and the Accounting Specialist to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal policies.
- Oversee all accounts payable and corporate credit card activity, ensuring timely processing and adherence to GAAP and company procedures.
- Review and post monthly and quarterly journal entries including accruals, allocations, depreciation, and adjustments.
- Monitor cash balances, manage intercompany payments, and liaise with banking partners regarding accounts, services, and fees.
- Support the preparation of audit schedules and ensure compliance with external audit requirements and tax return submissions.
- Assist in financial policy development and lead training efforts for finance and non-finance staff regarding accounting procedures and internal controls.
