Beacon Hill has partnered with a repeat non-profit client in the search for an Accounting Manager to join their team. This role will report to the Executive Director and will be responsible for managing the month-end closing process while also taking the lead on all audit preparations. Prior work experience with QuickBooks Online is a requirement for this role (aka QuickBooks Cloud). The client is looking for a candidate that is comfortable improving accounting processes and bringing new ideas to the table. This is a hybrid role that will require on-site work in Alexandria, VA. Essential Job Duties

Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback

Manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting

Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements

Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and regulatory requirements

Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll accounting functions

Monitor and maintain internal control systems to safeguard company assets and improve efficiency

Coordinate annual audits and prepare supporting documentation for auditors

Assist in the development of budgets and financial forecasts, providing variance analysis and insight

Lead implementation and improvement of accounting systems and processes

Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to support financial decision-making

Manage fixed asset accounting and ensure accurate depreciation schedules
