Senior Accountant – Arlington, VA

Position Overview
Beacon Hill has partnered with a corporate client in Arlington, VA in their search for a Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant will support both accounting operations and financial analysis functions. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the close process, and delivering insights through reporting and analysis. This position combines technical accounting responsibilities with financial analyst duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
• Perform account reconciliations and maintain general ledger accuracy.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Analyze financial results and provide insight into trends and variances.
• Assist with preparation of financial statements and reporting packages.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting processes.
• Assist with audit support and ensure compliance with GAAP.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
• Experience supporting month-end close and reconciliations.
• Solid understanding of GAAP.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Power BI, SQL, or Python is a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis).
• Experience in a role combining accounting and financial analysis is preferred.
