Key Job Duties
- Lead and manage Client Accounting staff, including hiring, training, performance management, and process improvement initiatives.
- Oversee daily operations and accounting activities to ensure compliance with owner policies, procedures, and management agreements.
- Manage monthly accounting calendars and reporting deadlines, ensuring timely payments, reconciliations, and owner deliverables.
- Provide treasury management oversight, including disbursement approvals, bank signatory duties, and bank reconciliation reviews.
- Review and approve financial reports, tenant adjustments, budgets, and settlement schedules, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Direct system training and guidance on platforms like MRI, Yardi, P2P, and Payscan, and act as a primary contact for clients, auditors, and tax preparers.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 5+ years of fee-based property management accounting experience and 3+ years in a supervisory/management role.
- Advanced knowledge of GAAP, cash, and accrual accounting, with expertise in budget reporting, operating expense settlements, CAM reconciliations, and gross-up calculations.
- Proficiency in real estate accounting software (MRI) and advanced Excel skills.
