Senior Financial Specialist – Washington, DC
Beacon Hill Financial has partnered with a local client in their search for a Senior Financial Specialist to join their team. This role is responsible for leading the preparation and maintenance of annual budgets, including multi-year forecasting models, as well as supporting monthly and quarterly financial close processes, including reconciliations and journal entries.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and maintenance of annual budgets, including multi-year forecasting models
- Analyze actual financial results against budget and forecast, and provide variance explanations
- Create dashboards and financial reports to guide leadership in strategic decision-making
- Partner with leadership and department heads to provide financial insights and guidance
- Support monthly and quarterly financial close processes, including reconciliations and journal entries
- Monitor grant funding and ensure expenditures align with allowable uses
- Conduct financial modeling to support new initiatives and long-term planning
- Collaborate on audit preparation and respond to inquiries from auditors and external stakeholders
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and assist with implementation of financial best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- Financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis
