Senior Staff Accountant – Arlington, VA
Beacon Hill Financial is partnering with a growing organization in the Arlington area to identify a highly skilled Senior Staff Accountant with hands-on Sage Intacct experience. This role reports directly to the Controller and will support the company’s daily and monthly accounting functions while contributing to process improvements and financial accuracy. The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting knowledge, experience with general ledger management, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments. Primary Responsibilities:

• Maintain and manage the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded in Sage Intacct
• Prepare and post journal entries, month-end accruals, amortizations, and reclassifications
• Perform comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations, resolving discrepancies in a timely manner
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed, ensuring proper coding and month-end cutoffs
• Assist in preparing and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow reports
• Review and validate expense allocations, project coding, and departmental financial accuracy
• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting by compiling data, analyzing trends, and collaborating with department leaders
• Assist with monthly and quarterly close processes, ensuring adherence to deadlines and GAAP procedures
• Monitor and maintain fixed asset schedules, depreciation entries, and supporting documentation
• Collaborate with internal teams to streamline processes and strengthen internal controls
• Prepare reports and schedules for external auditors and assist with annual audit support
• Participate in special projects, system enhancements, and process improvement initiatives within Sage Intacct

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• 3-5+ years of professional accounting experience; prior Sage Intacct experience highly preferred
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working in cloud-based accounting systems
• Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently while supporting cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
