Job: Commercial Loan Assistant
Location: Oklahoma City, OK
Employment Type: Temporary/Contract (with potential for extension or conversion)
Pay Range: $22-$26/hour, depending on experience
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Commercial Loan Assistant to support the Commercial Lending Team of one of our banking clients in the Oklahoma City metro area.
This role plays a key part in the commercial loan lifecycle by assisting with loan processing, documentation, and closing activities while delivering a high level of service to internal partners and external clients. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced banking environment with multiple deadlines. This position also offers opportunities to engage in community initiatives that align with the organization’s values and mission.
This is a full-time, on-site role with a standard Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. schedule. Occasional additional hours may be required during month-end closings or peak periods (e.g., tax season) to meet business and reporting deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the processing and closing of commercial loans, ensuring documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate pre-closing activities, including gathering supporting documentation, preparing loan request forms, and updating loan data in loan origination and servicing systems (e.g., Easy Lender).
- Partner with Loan Officers to schedule closings, prepare funding instructions, and collect required fees.
- Prepare loan documents for recording, including mortgages, assignments, modifications, SNDAs, landlord consents, and related documents.
- Maintain organized loan files and ensure all post-closing documentation is received, reviewed, and properly stored.
- Process construction advances and draw requests in accordance with loan terms and internal procedures.
- Communicate effectively with Loan Officers, Credit Administration, Loan Operations, borrowers, and third-party vendors such as attorneys, title companies, insurance providers, and county/state offices.
- Maintain working knowledge of applicable banking laws, regulations, and internal procedures to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
- Provide responsive and professional service to internal and external stakeholders to support strong client relationships.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial lending, loan administration, or a related banking role.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Proficiency with Windows-based applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
