Overview:
Responsible for overseeing the administration of employee benefits, retirement plans, leave of absence programs, workers’ compensation, and safety initiatives. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while providing strong leadership to staff and managing vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage health, wellness, and retirement plans (403(b), 457(b)); ensure regulatory compliance and cost-effectiveness.

Oversee benefits vendor relationships and lead agency wellness initiatives.

Administer workers’ compensation, safety programs, and ergonomic plans; serve as Safety Committee Chair.

Ensure compliance and proper administration of all leave of absence programs (FMLA, CFRA, ADA, etc.).

Supervise and develop team members; conduct performance reviews and manage daily operations.

Prepare compliance reports (e.g., Form 5500) and maintain audit-ready documentation.

Support departmental budgeting and participate in agency-wide projects and committees.
