Senior Payroll Consultant – Hybrid / Waltham, MA
Our client, a mid-sized organization within a professional services environment, is seeking a Senior Payroll Consultant to support and oversee end-to-end payroll operations during a transitional period. This role will focus on independently managing payroll processes, ensuring compliance, and supporting and reporting activities while partnering closely with finance leadership.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and process regular multi-state payroll cycles using an established payroll system
- Ensure payroll data accuracy, documentation, and compliance with internal controls
- Maintain payroll system data, employee records, and related reporting
- Support payroll activities, including stock-based transactions
- Manage payroll tax setup, filings, and ongoing state compliance requirements
- Partner with finance and internal stakeholders to support payroll operations and process improvements
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience owning and managing payroll functions
- Hands-on experience with UKG or similar payroll systems
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups)
