A well-established hospital located just outside of Downtown Los Angeles is conducting a confidential search for an experienced Senior Accountant to join its finance team on a temporary-to-hire basis. Position Summary
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for performing a wide range of accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, exceptional attention to detail, and advanced Excel skills. The position requires a self-starter who can work independently, manage multiple priorities, and ensure accuracy and efficiency in all financial processes.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.

Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.

Analyze financial data and variances to support accurate reporting.

Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure compliance with GAAP.

Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation and analysis.

Support budgeting and forecasting activities as needed.

Identify process improvements to streamline accounting workflows.

Collaborate with internal departments while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.

3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a hospital or healthcare environment.

Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis).

Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Lawson, Oracle, or similar) preferred.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently.
