CALLING ALL GRANTS ACCOUNTANTS
We’re partnering with a well-respected non-profit organization in Tacoma that values accuracy, transparency, and collaboration. Their accounting team is looking for a Grants Accountant to manage grant accounting, financial reporting, and endowment accounting while supporting overall business office operations.
The role
This position performs general accounting and financial reporting duties, with a focus on university grant accounting and compliance. You’ll play a key role in ensuring accurate financial records, supporting audits, and contributing to year-end financial statements.
What you’ll do
- Manage accounting for awarded grants, including monitoring, compliance, billing, and reporting through grant closeout
- Maintain and reconcile endowment fund accounting
- Prepare, review, and approve journal entries
- Assist with monthly bank reconciliations and ensure a valid chart of accounts
- Provide accounting and research support to the AVP for Finance and other areas of the business office
- Support AP Specialist in all accounts payable processes
- Assist with preparation of audit work papers during year-end financial reporting

- Strong accounting knowledge and experience, preferably in grants or non-profit accounting
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Comfortable using Excel for reporting, tracking, and analysis
- Ability to collaborate with multiple departments and communicate effectively
