Our client, a leading healthcare organization is seeking a full-time Customer Service & Patient Collections Associate to support their Shared Service Center in Westwood, MA. This temporary position offers a hybrid schedule (1-2 days onsite weekly after training) with free parking and runs for 3-6 months, with potential for permanent conversion depending on budget and performance. Hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM, and the pay is $24/hour. Candidates must have updated vaccinations and immunizations, as required by the employer. Job Responsibilities:
- Handle high-volume incoming calls, mail, and electronic inquiries regarding billing
- Collect outstanding balances and update patient insurance and demographic information
- Research and resolve patient billing inquiries
- Communicate findings to patients accurately and in a timely manner
- Alert management of recurring billing issues and assist with solutions
- Verify insurance eligibility using various systems and payor contacts
- Manage referrals received via multiple channels
- Resolve issues from PCP and self-pay exception reports
- Ensure proper documentation and maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA
Candidate Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 1 year of customer service experience in healthcare or call center
- EPIC system experience strongly preferred
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable handling sensitive information in accordance with HIPAA standards
- Ability to work full-time hours and meet immunization requirements
