Leave of Absence Specialist
Location: Hybrid in Boston, MA (Onsite 3 days/week)
A growing organization in Boston, MA, is looking to hire a Leave of Absence (LOA) Specialist to manage all employee LOA programs, workplace accommodations & compliance. They are looking for a candidate with direct experience managing LOAs and workers’ compensation claims, while providing high-touch support to all employees.
Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end leave of absence programs, including FMLA, state/local leaves, military leave, disability, personal leaves, and company-sponsored leave benefits while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and policies.
- Partner with third-party vendors, HR, Legal, managers, and employees to administer leave programs, manage ADA accommodations, resolve complex cases, and provide clear guidance throughout the leave process.
- Maintain accurate leave, benefits, and compliance records, including tracking systems, employee communications, payroll coordination, benefit invoicing, COBRA administration, and state leave requirements.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of workers’ compensation claims, including claim administration, documentation management, litigation support, return-to-work coordination, and light-duty accommodations.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of direct LOA administration experience (including workers’ compensation)
- Strong knowledge of employer compliance, including FMLA, ADA, and multi-state laws
- Systems savvy, including experience utilizing a Leave Management system
