Our client, a leading law firm, is seeking a Human Resources Manager to support its New York office and serve as a key member of the HR team. This is a highly visible, hands-on role responsible for driving day-to-day HR operations while acting as a primary point of contact for employees across the business. This individual will partner closely with leadership to oversee employee relations, performance management, onboarding, and core HR processes, while ensuring alignment with internal policies and regulatory requirements. The role also includes managing and developing a small HR team, enhancing processes, and helping to build scalable, efficient people practices. The ideal candidate is a proactive, solutions-oriented HR leader with strong judgment, a calm and professional demeanor, and experience operating in a fast-paced professional services environment. - Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, required.
- 6+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment.
- Strong working knowledge of New York employment laws and HR compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated experience handling employee relations matters, including investigations, performance management, and corrective action processes.
- Experience overseeing onboarding, performance management cycles, and offboarding processes.
- Strong leadership experience with the ability to manage, coach, and develop junior HR team members.
- Proficiency in HR systems, with Workday experience required.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information.
The salary for this role is $150,000-$185,000.
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
