Our client, a manufacturing firm, is seeking an HR Generalist to join its Human Resources team and provide hands-on support across employee relations, HR operations, and compliance. The HR Generalist will be responsible for supporting a wide range of HR functions, including employee relations, investigations, manager coaching, payroll support, benefits administration, and onboarding. This individual will play a critical role in stabilizing and supporting high-need sites, acting as a visible, on-the-ground HR partner and helping to resolve employee concerns, guide leadership through complex situations, and reinforce best practices across the organization. The role is primarily onsite, supporting locations near JFK (Queens, NY) and East Windsor, NJ, with travel between sites. The ideal candidate thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced environment, brings strong employee relations experience, and is comfortable partnering closely with leadership to navigate complex workplace situations. - Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5+ years of HR experience, with a strong focus on employee relations and performance management.
- Demonstrated experience handling employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
- Strong knowledge of NY and NJ employment laws, including wage & hour and leave administration.
- Experience coaching and advising managers on performance management, employee development, and sensitive workplace issues.
- Proven ability to operate as a hands-on HR partner in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
- Experience supporting payroll processes, benefits administration, and HR operations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and approachable presence.
- High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information.
- Proficiency in HR systems; Workday or UKG experience preferred.
- Spanish language skills are a plus.
The salary for this role is $90,000-$110,000.
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
