Job Description: ServiceNow Senior Platform Developer
Role: ServiceNow Senior Platform Developer
Type: Contract
Duration: 10-12 months (with potential extension or conversion)
Location: Remote (U.S.)
Start Date: March
Primary Mission
Deliver high-quality ServiceNow platform enhancements by building new functionality, reducing administrative toil, and resolving defects through clean, scalable implementations.
Work Focus
- 70% hands-on build and change delivery
- 20% participation in refinements, idea sharing, and continuous improvement
- 10% documentation and knowledge sharing
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and enhance ServiceNow platform functionality aligned to best practices
- Deliver well-structured, reusable solutions that reduce future maintenance
- Collaborate with team members during refinement and planning sessions
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve platform efficiency and usability
- Maintain clear documentation and leave clean implementations behind
Technical Requirements
- Strong core ServiceNow platform development experience, including:
- Business Rules
- Script Includes
- Client Scripts
- UI Policies
- Flow Designer
- Scripted integrations (inbound and outbound APIs)
- Hands-on experience with:
- CMDB and CSDM
- Discovery
- Event Management
- Reporting and Performance Analytics
- Experience building integrations, including handling authentication and error management
Non-Technical Requirements
- Works independently with minimal hand-holding
- Proactively suggests improvements and better ways of working
- Strong collaborator and communicator within a technical team
Success After 3-6 Months
- Consistently delivers high-quality change work
- Contributes ideas that improve platform efficiency and reduce admin overhead
- Recognized as a trusted senior technical voice
- Leaves behind clean implementations, clear documentation, and reusable patterns
