Beacon Hill Legal is seeking a Patent Coordinator for a temp-to-perm opportunity with our client, a respected Houston law firm.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in intellectual property law and be comfortable preparing and filing U.S. patent applications and related documents under attorney guidance. This role supports legal staff dockets and interfaces with attorneys and partners on administrative matters.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing and filing U.S. patent applications and prosecution documents
- Drafting formal documents (e.g., Assignments, Declarations) and Information Disclosure Statements (IDS)
- Managing docket actions and completing New Business Intake (NBI)
- Reviewing USPTO correspondence and Filing Receipts
- Liaising with foreign associates and internal legal teams
- Performing patent, bibliography, and family searches
- Generating reports from IPManager and entering billable time in Elite (if applicable)
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, IPManager, iManage, USPTO Portal, WIPO, EPO, IPDAS, ePCT, Elite, and client portals
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Familiarity with MPEP and foreign filing processes (PCT, National Phase, Direct)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field, or IP Paralegal Certification
- Minimum of 3 years of administrative experience in IP law (or equivalent experience)
This is a full-time, onsite role with standard business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.). Flexibility for occasional evening or weekend work may be required. For immediate consideration, please submit your resume in Word format. We look forward to working with you!
