Sr. Cost/Inventory Accountant
A growing Bay Area manufacturing company is looking for a Sr. Cost/ Inventory Accountant to oversee inventory accuracy and costing processes. This role is hands-on and provides critical support to both finance and operations teams.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and analyze standard costs, bill of materials, and labor/overhead allocations.
- Prepare cost of goods sold reports, monthly inventory reconciliations, and variance analyses.
- Partner with operations to monitor work-in-process, scrap, and production efficiencies.
- Support physical inventory counts and cycle count programs.
- Prepare month-end journal entries related to inventory and manufacturing costs.
- Provide actionable insights to improve margins, reduce waste, and enhance inventory accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of cost/inventory accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
- Detail-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable working cross-functionally with production teams.
