The New York City Office of well-known regional law firm is looking for a Litigation Legal Assistant who will be an essential part of a busy team. This is a great role for someone with at least 3 years of experience as a Litigation Legal Assistant, Legal Administrative Assistant or Legal Secretary who has supported Trial Attorneys. This is a great opportunity for a candidate who wants to experience the benefits of working for a smaller firm in a smaller office including: hands-on experience, a collaborative work environment and client interaction where you can develop key relationships. You’ll also have a wide variety of fulfilling work.
What You Will Do:
- Draft, revise and format pleadings, motions, correspondence, discovery, and other various litigation legal documents
- E-file at state, federal court and appellate courts
- Assist with trial preparation and management of calendars for deadlines
- Liaise with clients, attorneys, internal lines of business, vendors and court employees
- Opening new files, preparing conflicts checks and drafting engagement letters
- Billing and time entry
Requirements/Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of litigation legal administrative assistant experience
- Associate’s Degree highly preferred
- State and Federal e-filing experience required
- Proficient with MS Office Suite, including advanced use of MS Word (including redlining, comparing documents, advanced formatting, Table of Contents and Table of Authorities creation and manipulation, and hyperlinks).
- Proficiency in the use of document management systems (iManage preferred)
- Must be open to hybrid schedule and overtime when needed
