Beacon Hill Legal is working with a premier law firm located in downtown St. Louis, who is currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Land Use & Litigation Paralegal to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside top-tier attorneys on meaningful and impactful cases involving property rights and land use.
About the Role:
The Land Use & Litigation Paralegal will support attorneys through all phases of condemnation matters-from pre-acquisition to litigation-by managing case files, drafting legal documents, reviewing property records, coordinating appraisals and experts, and providing litigation support.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Conduct title and property research using public records and online databases

Assist in preparing condemnation petitions, discovery responses, settlement documents, and exhibits

Draft and file pleadings and legal correspondence in both state and federal courts

Organize and maintain case files, document databases, and discovery tracking

Coordinate with clients, governmental entities, appraisers, land planners, and expert witnesses

Review and summarize appraisals, land acquisition documents, and property maps
-
Manage document production and deadlines, ensuring timely responses and filings

Attend hearings or depositions as needed to provide logistical support and manage exhibits

Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including creating trial notebooks and coordinating witnesses

Maintain detailed billing records and track time in accordance with firm standards

Collaborate with team members to support ongoing and time-sensitive projects
Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience required

Paralegal certificate and at least two years of experience in eminent domain, real estate, land use, or litigation preferred

Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and legal case management software

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment

Familiarity with property law, easements, appraisals, and land acquisition processes is a plus
