Trusts & Estates Paralegal – Milwaukee, WI
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Trusts & Estates Paralegal to join a well respected law firm in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In this role, you will support attorneys and senior staff in a wide variety of estate planning and administration tasks. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational abilities, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to high-quality client service.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation of fiduciary income tax returns, federal gift tax returns, and estate tax filings.

Maintain trust records and perform trust accounting functions, including auditing financial activity.

Reconcile brokerage accounts, general ledger balances, and prepare related financial reports and transactions.

Handle trust and estate administration, including the funding of revocable and irrevocable trusts.

Draft legal documents for probate matters and ensure timely filing of court pleadings.

Act as a liaison with clients, advisors, and financial institutions, maintaining professional communication at all times.

Track and meet billing requirements, aiming for approximately 1,500 billable hours annually.

Organize, manage, and maintain client files and electronic records in accordance with firm protocols.

Support the legal team with research, file management, and special projects.

Supervise tasks delegated to support staff where needed.
Qualifications:

5+ years of experience working in trusts and estates preferred.

Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree or a paralegal certificate (preferably from an ABA-approved program) is strongly preferred. Relevant work experience may substitute for formal education.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.

Proven ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage competing priorities.

Familiarity with legal and accounting software related to estate administration (e.g., trust accounting programs, tax software).

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.

High attention to detail and commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work.

Experience with corporate or real estate transactions is a plus.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic legal environment.
