Position Summary
A Chicago-based legal practice is seeking a Litigation Paralegal with experience in personal injury matters to support its litigation team. This role is suited for someone who is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment. The position offers the opportunity to be involved in all stages of case development and trial preparation.
Core Responsibilities
- Provide support to attorneys throughout the lifecycle of personal injury cases, from initial intake through resolution or trial
- Prepare legal documents including pleadings, discovery materials, and routine correspondence
- Maintain case files and monitor litigation deadlines to ensure timely case progression
- Schedule and coordinate depositions, court appearances, and related filings
- Serve as a point of contact for clients, healthcare providers, expert witnesses, and opposing counsel
- Review, organize, and summarize medical records, billing statements, and other evidentiary materials
- Assist with trial readiness, including preparing exhibits, organizing case materials, and coordinating witnesses
Required Qualifications
- At least two years of experience supporting litigation matters, with a focus on personal injury cases
- Strong organizational abilities and careful attention to detail
- Ability to handle multiple assignments and manage competing priorities effectively
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with legal practice tools and standard office software
- Comfortable working collaboratively within a team environment
- Demonstrated initiative and willingness to take on new tasks and responsibilities
