A well respected Chicago law firm is currently hiring a skilled Corporate Legal Assistant to join its corporate practice team. This position requires a minimum of 1 + year experience supporting attorneys in a legal office environment, particularly in business and transactional law.

Primary Responsibilities

Actively support corporate legal transactions at every stage, including pre-closing preparations, execution, and post-closing follow-up.

Manage and maintain both digital and physical case files, ensuring all client records are organized according to firm protocols.

Assist attorneys with calendar management, meeting coordination, and travel arrangements.

Handle document preparation and thorough review of various legal and business materials such as contracts, UCC filings, transactional forms, and compliance documentation.

Process filings with federal and state agencies through electronic systems as required.

Draft client engagement materials, initiate conflict checks, and oversee the setup and conclusion of legal matters.

Work collaboratively with team members to maintain workflow efficiency, especially during periods of high activity.

Support timekeeping and billing operations, including logging hours, reviewing invoices, and managing billing tasks.
Qualifications & Skills

Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a corporate legal or transactional environment.

Demonstrated skill in using Microsoft Office tools and PDF editing software.

Familiarity with legal practice software (such as SurePoint or NetDocs) is advantageous.

Exceptional organizational habits and the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines.

High level of attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy and consistency.

Capable of managing confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

Effective verbal and written communication skills in a fast-paced setting.
