Beacon Hill Legal is partnering with a growing commercial real estate company in Chicago to hire a Corporate Counsel to report directly to the General Counsel. This is a high-visibility, second-chair role supporting acquisitions, development, financing, and portfolio management across a diverse asset base.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and support acquisitions and dispositions, including negotiation of purchase and sale agreements, oversight of diligence, and coordination with outside counsel

Handle construction and permanent financing, joint ventures, and investor transactions, including loan documentation and compliance matters
-
Assist with ownership structuring and governance, including drafting operating and partnership agreements
-
Oversee litigation and pre-litigation matters in coordination with outside counsel and manage enterprise risk
-
Negotiate operational agreements, including property management, construction, vendor, consultant, and technology contracts

Improve legal operations through template creation, systems implementation, and process optimization
Qualifications:
-
4-7+ years of experience
-
Strong background in acquisitions and financing; development experience is a significant plus
-
Litigation exposure is helpful but not required
-
Business-oriented mindset with strong financial literacy and commercial judgment
-
Confident communicator comfortable working directly with executives and stakeholders at all levels
