Litigation Paralegal – Overland Park, KS
Beacon Hill Legal is partnering with a respected defense litigation firm in Overland Park, KS to add an experienced Paralegal to their team. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside accomplished attorneys while gaining valuable experience in state and federal courts across the Midwest.
About the Role
The Paralegal will provide key support to attorneys throughout all stages of the litigation process. This role involves direct client contact, case management, medical record review, and trial preparation. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced, team-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with case management from start to finish, including organizing and maintaining case files.
- Conduct legal research and analyze regulations, laws, and legal articles.
- Review, organize, and summarize medical records, depositions, and other discovery materials.
- Prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
- Coordinate with clients, witnesses, attorneys, and outside parties to schedule interviews, depositions, and meetings.
- Support trial preparation, including exhibits, witness materials, and case summaries.
- Track deadlines, monitor calendars, and ensure timely filings.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of litigation paralegal experience (defense, medical injury, product liability, or wrongful death a plus).
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Knowledge of court procedures and familiarity with case management systems.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience required.
