Beacon Hill Legal is seeking a Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal to join a growing law firm located in downtown Chicago! This is a full-time, permanent position with a 40-hour work week, strong benefits, and competitive compensation. This role is fully in-office during training, with the opportunity to work from home 1 day per week after onboarding.
Skills required and Job Duties include the following:
* 1-3+ years of litigation experience, ideally within Personal Injury (plaintiff-side preferred; some WC exposure is okay if combined with PI)
* Must have a strong understanding of the litigation process from case intake through resolution
* Experience requesting, reviewing, and summarizing medical records and medical bills
* Experience working with subpoenas for medical records and handling related follow-up
* Assist with drafting demand letters and supporting pre-suit investigations
* Prepare, draft, and respond to written discovery for personal injury matters
* Assist with drafting and filing court documents including complaints, motions, and pleadings (eFiling experience is a plus, but can be trained)
* Communicate with clients, insurance adjusters, and third parties regarding claims
* Maintain case files, track deadlines, and support attorneys with day-to-day litigation tasks
Additional Details:
* Candidate should be detail-oriented, proactive, and a strong critical thinker
* Not seeking entry-level or law school candidates
* Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus, but not required
