Beacon Hill Legal is partnering with a prominent nationwide law firm to identify an experienced Senior Legal Assistant – Energy Regulatory to support attorneys in a sophisticated regulatory practice. This role serves as a key member of the legal support team, providing high-level administrative, document management, client service, and matter management support in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive support to attorneys within the Energy Regulatory practice group.
- Prepare, revise, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, filings, presentations, and other client materials.
- Coordinate new matter openings, conflict checks, engagement documentation, and file management.
- Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings, coordinate travel arrangements, and prepare itineraries.
- Monitor deadlines, track ongoing projects and matters, and assist with workflow management to ensure timely completion of assignments.
- Assist with billing activities, including client invoicing, budget tracking, and financial reporting.
- Maintain organized electronic and physical files, ensuring compliance with firm policies and document retention standards.
- Serve as a liaison between attorneys, clients, courts, agencies, and internal departments.
- Manage attorney communications, including handling correspondence and prioritizing urgent matters.
- Support business development efforts by maintaining contact databases, coordinating events, and assisting with marketing and client materials.
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, leverage technology, and enhance overall efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- 5+ years of executive administrative, legal support, or professional services experience required.
- At least 3 years of legal assistant experience in a law firm or corporate legal environment.
- Prior experience supporting attorneys in an energy, regulatory, utilities, administrative law, or related practice area is highly preferred.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proven attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work product.
- Experience with legal billing, matter management, and document management systems is a plus.
