Conflicts Analyst
An established law firm is seeking a Conflicts Analyst to join their Chicago office. This is a full‑time position working closely with Conflicts Counsel in a collaborative, low‑turnover environment.
The role follows a 35‑hour work week, with a schedule of 9:00 AM-5:00 PM and a one‑hour unpaid lunch. The position is four days onsite and one remote day per week, offering strong work‑life balance. The salary range for this position is $80k-$100k, depending on experience.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years of legal conflicts experience and is comfortable working in a partner‑facing role. Hands‑on experience using InTapp for conflicts analysis is required.
Skills required and Job Duties include the following:
Job Duties:
- Analyze and process conflicts requests to ensure all firm engagements and hires are cleared from both a business and ethical perspective
- Conduct database searches and prepare conflicts reports for new matters, lateral hires, and bulk or high‑volume requests
- Perform corporate and party research to confirm identities, relationships, and potential high‑profile or sensitive issues
- Review and interpret conflicts reports and supporting documentation to identify actual or potential conflicts
- Prepare clear, concise summaries describing the conflicts landscape in accordance with applicable rules of professional conduct
- Communicate regularly with partners, attorneys, and business professionals to investigate issues and propose solutions
- Work closely with Conflicts Counsel on escalations, analysis, and final clearance decisions
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of legal conflicts experience
- Prior experience using InTapp for conflicts analysis
- Strong understanding of professional responsibility rules and conflicts standards
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and written communication skills
- Comfortable interacting directly with attorneys and firm leadership
