Senior Litigation Paralegal
An established law firm is seeking a Senior Litigation Paralegal to join their Chicago office. This is a high-level position supporting complex litigation matters in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with strong trial exposure.
The role offers a hybrid schedule of three days onsite, with additional in-office time required during trial. Compensation is highly competitive, with a salary range of $100k-$140k+ depending on experience.
The ideal candidate has 7+ years of litigation paralegal experience and is comfortable managing cases from inception through trial. This person is proactive, detail-oriented, and able to anticipate attorney needs while handling high-volume, complex matters. Prior experience with trial support, case management, and mentoring junior staff is strongly preferred.
Skills required and Job Duties include the following:
Job Duties:
- Assist attorneys through all phases of complex litigation, from case inception through trial and resolution
- Manage case files, calendaring, discovery processes, and overall case organization
- Oversee document review processes, including privilege logs and production coordination
- Prepare trial materials, including exhibits, trial binders, and supporting documentation
- Coordinate trial logistics, including vendors, war rooms, and on-site support
- Assist with state and federal court filings and related document preparation
- Maintain organized electronic and physical case files
- Mentor, train, and delegate work to junior paralegals
- Communicate proactively with attorneys and internal teams to manage workflow and priorities
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of litigation paralegal experience
- Strong experience supporting trials in-person and managing trial logistics
- Proficiency with eDiscovery tools (Relativity, CaseMap, LiveNote preferred)
- Experience with legal research platforms (Lexis, Westlaw, Bloomberg)
- Advanced Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat skills
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters and work under tight deadlines
- Prior experience mentoring or supervising junior team members preferred
