Litigation Paralegal
A highly respected litigation firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join its growing team in Madison, WI. This is a full-time opportunity supporting attorneys on sophisticated commercial litigation matters from case inception through trial and appeal in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
The position follows a hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote and offers a 35-hour work week. This is a non-exempt position, and overtime may be available during busy periods. The salary range for this position is $100K-$130K.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of litigation paralegal experience, including experience supporting complex commercial litigation matters in state and federal courts. Candidates should be comfortable managing multiple cases simultaneously and working independently while partnering closely with attorneys throughout all phases of litigation.
Skills required and Job Duties include the following:
Job Duties:
- Assist attorneys with all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, trial, post-trial matters, and appeals
- Prepare and assist with pleadings, motions, affidavits, and discovery documents
- Analyze, review, organize, and manage large volumes of documents and data produced during discovery
- Coordinate document productions and responses to discovery requests
- Conduct legal research using Westlaw, PACER, and other legal research platforms
- Perform factual investigations, document analysis, and case research
- Assist with cite-checking and motion preparation
- Prepare and manage trial and arbitration exhibits and related materials
- Draft routine filings and discovery documents
- Coordinate court filings and maintain litigation deadlines
- Maintain case files, file indexes, and document management systems
- Assist with special projects and other litigation support responsibilities as needed
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of litigation paralegal experience
- Experience supporting complex commercial litigation matters
- Experience with state and federal court filings
- Strong legal research skills
- Experience handling discovery, document review, and document production
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with attorneys and staff
Preferred Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate
- Experience with PACER and electronic court filing systems
- Experience using Westlaw and/or LexisNexis
- Experience with Relativity or other eDiscovery platforms
- Experience using document management systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with docketing and case monitoring tools
