Beacon Hill Legal is seeking a Legal Investigator on behalf of a nationally recognized plaintiff-side law firm with a St. Louis office.

This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate, investigative, and detail-oriented professional who enjoys meeting people, uncovering facts, and contributing to meaningful litigation. The Legal Investigator will work closely with attorneys and litigation teams to develop case strategy through client interviews, witness outreach, research, document analysis, and trial support. This position is primarily on-site and requires significant travel throughout the United States, often on short notice. Candidates must have the ability to rent and drive a vehicle as part of their job responsibilities.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who can quickly build trust with clients and witnesses from diverse backgrounds. Individuals with hands-on experience in industries such as construction, automotive, shipbuilding, manufacturing, industrial trades, electrical work, or similar fields are strongly encouraged to apply, as that background can be particularly valuable when evaluating work histories and exposure-related claims. Experience conducting interviews, performing research, analyzing complex information, and traveling regularly for business is highly preferred.

In this role, responsibilities will include conducting detailed interviews with clients regarding their employment histories and workplace exposures; locating and interviewing witnesses; investigating job sites, job functions, and product exposure histories; performing extensive factual and legal research; drafting memoranda and investigative summaries; reviewing large volumes of documents to identify relevant evidence; and supporting trial teams through witness coordination, trial preparation, and jury selection activities. The position also requires frequent travel to client and witness locations, including overnight and short-notice trips.

Successful candidates will possess exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to put clients at ease while gathering sensitive and complex information. Strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and critical thinking skills are essential, along with the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced litigation environment. Candidates should be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, and fellow investigators. Strong computer proficiency, effective verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to efficiently process and synthesize large amounts of information are critical to success in this role.

A high school diploma is required, and additional college coursework or a bachelor’s degree is preferred. Above all, the firm is seeking motivated professionals who demonstrate initiative, adaptability, intellectual curiosity, and a commitment to learning new information quickly.
