Beacon Hill Legal is partnering with a well‑established Central Illinois law firm to recruit an experienced Litigation Paralegal. This full‑time role is based in the Bloomington, IL area and offers the potential for a hybrid or partially remote schedule.
The ideal candidate brings a strong background in personal injury and medical malpractice litigation, along with proven experience managing cases through all stages of the litigation lifecycle – including pleadings, motions, discovery, expert coordination, and trial preparation. Success in this role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. A commitment to high‑quality client service is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct medical research to support litigation strategy
- Identify, recommend, and coordinate expert witnesses and consultants
- Review, summarize, and organize medical records
- Assist attorneys with case development and trial preparation
- Provide support during trials as needed
- Draft pleadings, correspondence, and other legal documents
- Interview witnesses and gather relevant case information
- Prepare interim case status reports
- Review discovery materials and assist with information management
- Support special projects and additional tasks as assigned
Desired Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a medical malpractice litigation paralegal
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage a high‑volume caseload efficiently
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail
- Proven ability to prioritize deadlines and handle multiple tasks
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Paralegal certification preferred
