Beacon Hill Legal is partnering with a well-established law firm in downtown Chicago to hire an experienced Bankruptcy Paralegal to support their Bankruptcy and Financial Restructuring practice. This is a full-time, hybrid position (three days in-office) offering a salary range of $75-90K+ DOE.
This position is best suited for a paralegal with at least three years of litigation experience, ideally with a strong background in bankruptcy matters. The role requires a detail-oriented professional who can manage multiple deadlines, coordinate complex case activities, and provide a high level of support to attorneys handling Chapter 11 and related adversary proceedings.
Key Responsibilities

Assist attorneys with large Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases and related adversary matters

Draft orders, notices, certificates of service, subpoenas, pleadings, and proofs of claim

Coordinate service of documents and manage document review processes

Prepare and maintain detailed case logs, calendars, and hearing schedules

Prepare petitions, schedules, and other bankruptcy filings, including involuntary petitions

Organize and summarize factual data and case developments
-
File documents electronically with U.S. bankruptcy courts nationwide

Conduct legal research and retrieve case information, dockets, and pleadings
-
Assist with claims reconciliation and preference action analyses

Collaborate with attorneys, litigation technology staff, and fraud teams on cross-practice matters

Prepare exhibits for trial and evidentiary hearings, and assist with trial preparation
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate preferred (equivalent experience considered)

Minimum of three years of litigation experience; bankruptcy experience strongly preferred

Trial preparation and trial experience required

Strong knowledge of bankruptcy procedures and e-filing with U.S. bankruptcy courts

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; Best Case Software experience preferred

Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively

Ability to work overtime as needed to meet case deadlines
