Paralegal
Location: Lakewood, CO
Schedule: In-office full-time
Salary: $55,000 – $60,000K
About the Role
Our client, a growing law firm in Lakewood, CO, is seeking a motivated Debt Recovery Paralegal to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow into a paralegal role under the mentorship of experienced senior paralegals. You’ll gain hands-on experience in debt collections, document production, e-filing, process serving, and trial preparation.
Key Responsibilities

Support collection attorneys practicing community association representation (condominiums, townhomes, single-family homes)

Manage initial case intake: open new files, request documents, draft client letters

Court e-filing and calendar management, including deadlines and trial dates

Draft motions, petitions, and proposed orders as needed

Communicate with clients, courts, and debtors/defendants

Assist with discovery, review responses, and trial preparation

Maintain electronic and physical case files

Generate documents as instructed by attorneys

Enter payments into the database and follow up on service of process

Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by supervising attorneys
Qualifications & Skills

High school diploma required; some college preferred

Paralegal certificate or degree is a plus

2+ years of paralegal or legal assistant experience in a law firm

2+ years of exposure to debt collections practices, including FDCPA, preferred
-
Strong attention to detail, initiative, and organizational skills

Excellent grammar, spelling, editing, and verbal communication

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel); case management software a plus
