Litigation Legal Assistant
Overview
A well-established law firm in Minneapolis seeks a Litigation Legal Assistant to support attorneys and legal professionals in a fast-paced commericial litigation practice. This role requires strong administrative skills, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to litigation attorneys in commericial litigation, business litigation real estate, eminent domain, and transactions.
- Coordinate and schedule attorneys meetings, depositions, pleadings, and scheduling arrangements.
- Prepare, format, edit, and proofread correspondence and legal documents.
- Draft routine litigation-related documents and filings under attorney direction.
- Electronically file documents in state and federal courts.
- Monitor and track key dates and deadlines to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Process invoices, expense reimbursements, and other administrative requests.
- Assist with real estate documentation, leases, billing and time entry.
- Transcribe dictated material when required.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all client and firm information.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of legal assistant experience in litigation or real estate preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of litigation procedures, court systems, and legal terminology.
- Ability to review and identify litigation-related documents.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Experience with document management, billing, and transcription software preferred.
- Clear, concise, and professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment.
