A leading international law firm is seeking a highly qualified associate to join its Government Contracts practice group in its Chicago or Denver office. The firm represents Fortune 500 companies across litigation, regulatory, intellectual property, and corporate matters, and is widely recognized for its work in high-stakes, government-facing engagements, as well as its commitment to pro bono service and diversity initiatives.
Position Overview:
This role focuses on advising clients on government cybersecurity requirements and compliance in the context of federal contracting. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of legal experience and technical fluency to support clients navigating evolving cybersecurity regulations and risk management frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Counsel clients on government cybersecurity requirements, including compliance with applicable federal standards and regulations
- Support the development and implementation of cybersecurity strategies and policies related to government contracts
- Conduct audits and assessments to evaluate client compliance and identify risk areas
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address cybersecurity challenges and strengthen compliance frameworks
- Prepare reports, memoranda, and documentation related to cybersecurity audits and regulatory requirements
Qualifications:
- 3-5+ years of experience advising on cybersecurity matters and ideally have experience advising on government contracts
- Experience with cybersecurity compliance frameworks and audit processes; technical background (e.g., computer science, information systems, or auditing) strongly preferred
- Certifications such as CMMC Registered Practitioner (RP), Certified Cybersecurity Practitioner (CCP), or Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) are a plus
- Excellent academic credentials and strong analytical, writing, and communication skills
- Active bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction or eligibility for admission
This position has a base salary of $250,000-$320,000, along with a discretionary bonus. The firm is on a hybrid schedule in office.
