Our client based in Norwell is in need an attorney with 5+ years of employment law experience, either in-house and/or law firm. This is to cover a maternity leave. Can be licensed in any state. The work will primarily be focused on advising and counseling internally regarding labor, employment, and immigration matters in the United States (Canadian experience a plus but not required). Labor experience is also a bonus. The team also consists of a junior attorney, paralegal, and a few part-time law clerks.
Responsibilities:
- Draft position statements and represent the company on EEOC, OSHA, and various state and agencies.
- Manage all employment-related litigation matters and overseeing outside counsel.
- Negotiate favorable settlements, severance packages, and other employment-related agreements.
- Advise Human Resources and business stakeholders on employment-related matters, providing strategic legal advice, and risk assessment.
- Draft and review Protective Agreements and company policies and standard operating procedures.
Duration: mid-September – May/June
Schedule: 40 hours/week; 3 days/week in office, 2 days/week remote (ideally, someone could do some weeks of 4 days in/1 day remote as they get up to speed).
Rate: $65-$85/hour based on experience
