Beacon Hill is partnering with a client seeking a remote Temporary Senior Commercial Counsel to support its North American Contracts team during a period of internal transition. This is a high-impact role for an experienced attorney who can operate independently and manage a significant volume of complex commercial agreements.
Assignment Details:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Duration: 3-4 months, with potential for extension
- Schedule: Full-time
- Location: Fully remote (preference for East Coast candidates)
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage a high volume of commercial contracts, including:
- Master Services Agreements (MSAs)
- Statements of Work (SOWs)
- Confidential Disclosure Agreements (CDAs)
- Vendor and servicing agreements
- Grant, donation, and HCP agreements
- Review, draft, and negotiate contracts for vendor-provided services (customer-side agreements)
- Independently manage incoming contract requests through a centralized intake system, including triaging and redirecting as appropriate
- Meet established turnaround timelines (typically 5 days or less) for contract review and negotiation
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, particularly Procurement, to resolve contract terms and align on business objectives
- Provide strategic legal guidance on contract provisions, including risk allocation and compliance considerations
Qualifications:
- Significant experience handling high-volume commercial contracting in a fast-paced environment
- Strong negotiation skills, particularly with respect to liability, indemnification, and risk allocation provisions
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal oversight
- Comfortable operating without established playbooks; able to rely on strong knowledge of market standards and best practices
- Excellent communication skills and ability to partner effectively with cross-functional teams
