Beacon Hill is actively seeking a junior litigation attorney or litigation paralegal for a full-time, on-site role with a public housing agency located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This is a dynamic opportunity to join a mission-driven legal department focused on litigation management, administrative law, housing regulations, and compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
The ideal candidate will have at least one year of litigation experience and a solid foundation in legal research, case preparation, and court procedures. This role supports senior legal staff by assisting with litigation proceedings, managing case documentation, and ensuring the agency’s legal matters are handled efficiently and in accordance with relevant laws and policies.
Key responsibilities and qualifications:
For attorney candidates: J.D. from an accredited law school and licensed to practice in Pennsylvania
For paralegal candidates: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a litigation setting

Represent or assist in representing the agency in legal proceedings before administrative agencies and in state and federal court

Assist with the preparation and review of legal documents including pleadings, motions, appeals, and legal opinions

Support the management of litigation filed by or against the agency, including participating in discovery and assisting with settlement discussions

Assist litigation counsel with enforcement matters related to Public Housing and Housing Choice Voucher programs

Conduct legal research and analysis on litigation or regulatory matters affecting the agency

Review, prepare, and update contracts, leases, and other legal documents for compliance with HUD regulations and applicable laws

Support the eviction process by preparing necessary documentation and coordinating procedural steps

Maintain consistent and effective communication with legal staff and agency leadership

Assist in managing insurance claims, filings, and supporting documentation as needed

Perform other legal support duties as assigned

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with legal case management software is a plus
