Position Overview
Our client is seeking a temporary-to-hire Practice Assistant to support its Labor & Employment Litigation practice in Pittsburgh, PA. This position offers an excellent opportunity for both experienced legal support professionals and candidates looking to develop their careers in a law firm environment. The firm is open to hiring an experienced Practice Assistant, or a less experienced candidate who is seeking an opportunity with training and development provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and litigation support to a team of 2-4 attorneys within the Labor & Employment practice group.
- Prepare, edit, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings.
- Manage attorney calendars, scheduling, and meeting coordination.
- Assist with court filings and litigation-related documentation.
- Maintain case files and support document management efforts.
- Coordinate travel arrangements, expense reports, and other administrative tasks as needed.
- Collaborate with a team of four other Practice Assistants to ensure seamless support across the practice group.
- Handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in Labor & Employment law and/or litigation support strongly preferred.
- Experience as a legal assistant, practice assistant, or litigation assistant in a law firm setting is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal document management systems.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive and team-focused approach.
