POSITION SUMMARY
Beacon Hill is seeking an ambitious, curious, and detail-oriented (Senior) Research Associate to join our client’s growing team. Working closely with their other R&D scientists, you will help drive drug discovery and development efforts by designing and conducting experiments. This is an exciting opportunity to work with, and learn from, multidisciplinary teams in a small, fast-paced biotechnology company. The successful candidate can work effectively in a team-oriented environment and is accustomed to delivering robust data on a timeline.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute bacterial and mammalian cultivations to produce p*MHC components and antibodies.
- Apply bioprocessing techniques, including affinity and size-exclusion chromatography, to purify target components, evaluate yield and purity, and maintain proper storage and organization.
- Support the development and implementation of novel research tools and assays utilizing standard molecular biology and biochemical lab techniques.
- Assist experiments leveraging phage display technology to discover and develop therapeutic antibodies.
- Assist with operational tasks in and out of the lab.
- Communicate experimental plans and results to the leadership team.
- Meticulous electronic lab notebook documentation.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE
- B.Sc. in biochemistry, microbiology, biology, bioengineering, immunology, or related field.
- 1-2 years of industry experience in a biotech/pharma company or full-time academic lab experience.
- Expertise with E.coli culture and transformation, as well as protein expression and purification, is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with standard molecular biology and biochemical lab techniques such as DNA and protein handling, including gel electrophoresis, western blotting, and ELISA.
- Proficiency with standard statistical analyses and data plotting (e.g., Microsoft Excel, GraphPad Prism).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively share scientific findings.
- Passion for working at the bench to advance programs and solve technical challenges.
- Self-motivation and adaptability to evolving project priorities and responsibilities.
- Team-oriented, with a strong work ethic.
