Temp-to-Hire Labor & Employment Legal Assistant
Location: Seattle, WA
Work Arrangement: Hybrid following an initial onsite training period

Hourly Pay Range: $24.04-$42.79 per hour
A nationally recognized management-side labor and employment law firm is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join its Seattle office. This individual will support multiple attorneys and work closely with attorneys, paralegals, and other administrative professionals in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
The position will be fully onsite during the first 90 days. After the introductory period, the schedule will begin with one remote day per week, with the potential to increase to two remote days per week over time.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, revise, format, proofread, and redline correspondence, memoranda, and complex legal documents
- Prepare documents for electronic filing
- Maintain attorney calendars, including meetings, appointments, deadlines, and client-related activities
- Organize and maintain electronic and paper files in accordance with firm procedures
- Prepare attorney time entries, expense reimbursements, and disbursement requests
- Assist with client billing and coordinate billing-related matters with the appropriate internal department
- Prepare and process new-matter documentation
- Coordinate meetings, conference rooms, meals, travel arrangements, itineraries, and expense reports
- Screen telephone calls and communicate professionally with clients, visitors, and firm personnel
- Process incoming and outgoing mail, ensuring that all exhibits, attachments, and enclosures are included
- Anticipate attorney needs, plan ahead, and consistently meet deadlines
- Provide administrative coverage for other attorneys and reception as needed
Required Qualifications
- At least one year of experience as a legal assistant or legal secretary
- Prior labor and employment experience
- Knowledge of legal terminology, documents, and processes
- Experience with legal document preparation, calendaring, e-filing, time entry, and file management
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, document management, time-entry, and database software
- Accurate typing speed of at least 70 words per minute
- Strong proofreading skills and knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple priorities
Compensation
The anticipated hourly pay range for this full-time position is $24.04-$42.79 per hour. Actual compensation will depend on experience and other job-related factors.
