Beacon Hill Legal is seeking an experienced Temporary Conflicts Staff Attorney to support a leading national law firm on an immediate basis. This is a full-time, fully remote opportunity expected to last approximately 3-6 months, with potential to convert to a permanent position.
The ideal candidate will have a JD and substantive experience conducting conflicts analysis within a law firm environment. Large law firm experience is strongly preferred.
While the position is fully remote, candidates must reside within reasonable commuting distance of the firm’s San Francisco office location.
Schedule: 40 hours/week
Duration: Approximately 3-6 months, with the potential to convert
Location: Fully remote, with candidates residing within reasonable commuting distance to the firm’s San Francisco office (94111)
Pay: $85.64-$90.26/hour, depending on experience
Responsibilities
* Conduct and analyze conflicts searches for prospective clients, new matters, existing clients, lateral attorneys, and other firm initiatives
* Review conflicts reports and identify potential legal and business conflicts
* Research and analyze complex conflict-of-interest issues
* Work directly with attorneys and other stakeholders to investigate and resolve potential conflicts
* Assist with the preparation and review of conflict waivers
* Support new business intake and lateral attorney intake processes
* Conduct special conflicts searches involving prior relationships, lateral hires, potential mergers, and other firm matters
* Apply applicable Rules of Professional Conduct when evaluating potential conflicts
* Assist with conflicts-related training and special projects
* Provide conflicts coverage and support as needed
Qualifications
* JD required
* Prior substantive conflicts analysis experience within a law firm required
* 3+ years of attorney-level conflicts experience strongly preferred
* Large law firm experience strongly preferred
* Strong understanding of conflicts of interest and applicable Rules of Professional Conduct
* Experience reviewing and analyzing conflicts searches and working through potential resolutions
* Experience with conflict waivers, new business intake and/or lateral attorney intake preferred
* Experience with Intapp Open or a similar conflicts/intake platform preferred
* Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills
* Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office
