Beacon Hill’s client, a Seattle defense firm, is seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant to support a busy litigation team. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity for the right fit and a strong opportunity for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable handling a mix of legal and administrative support in a fast-paced law firm environment.
- Location: Seattle, WA 98104 – Hybrid schedule. The role will be fully in office for the first two weeks, then transition to two days per week in office after onboarding.
- Duration: open-ended with the potential to convert direct hire
- Hours: Full-time
- Pay: $34-$41/hour, depending on experience
Position Overview
The firm is looking for a Legal Assistant with at least 5 years of experience in a legal setting, ideally with litigation experience. The right person will be comfortable supporting attorneys with calendaring, court filings, document preparation, case management, and day-to-day administrative support while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar legal support role
- Prior litigation experience preferred
- Strong understanding of legal terminology, court rules, filing procedures, and litigation workflow
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and litigation support to attorneys
- Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate appointments
- Draft, revise, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and reports
- File legal documents in state and federal courts in compliance with deadlines, court rules, and procedural requirements
- Timely serve legal documents to opposing counsel in accordance with applicable rules and agreements
- Open new case files and maintain organized electronic files
- Gather case information, calendar deadlines, and prepare initial correspondence to clients and opposing counsel
- Assist with case preparation, including exhibits, evidence, and related materials
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, experts, vendors, insurance representatives, and court personnel
- Submit vendor invoices for timely processing
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
