Beacon Hill’s client, an international Am Law 100 firm, is seeking a Litigation Docket Specialist to provide leave coverage. This position will work with a team consisting of 1 Manager, 1 Supervisor, and 6 Docket Specialists, supporting multiple offices across the West Coast.

Client Interview Process: For those selected, the interview process will begin with a brief phone screen with the firm. Candidates who advance from that stage will then participate in a video interview with the team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of litigation docketing experience, ideally as a dedicated Docket Specialist in a law firm environment
- *Candidates whose docketing experience was part of a broader legal support role will also be considered if they possess strong CompuLaw experience, rules-based docketing knowledge, and experience researching court rules and court dockets
- Prior experience working in a law firm environment is preferred
- CompuLaw experience is required
- Experience researching court dockets is required
- Proficient with rules-based docketing
- Proficient in electronic court filing in state and/or federal courts is required; candidates with experience in only one court system are still encouraged to apply
- Ability to interpret and analyze information
- Sound judgment and confidence in decision-making, including the ability to identify issues, determine when escalation is necessary, and proactively communicate with attorneys and case teams
- Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Computer proficient with advanced skills in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook) required
Overview:
As a Litigation Docket Specialist, you will be responsible for processing requests, entering deadlines in the Firm’s docketing system, preparing reports, and answering procedural questions. You will also contribute to e-filings, court runs, opening mail, and assisting the team with workload. In this position, you will be part of a regional and national docketing team that provides support to the firm’s Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Francisco, Seattle, and other domestic offices.
Responsibilities:
On any given day, you will be working with your colleagues on a variety of requests and projects. You will:
- Log and process all docket requests, using the firm’s docketing software
- Log and process all transactional docketing requests, including for the Real Estate and Corporate practice groups
- Respond to case teams to ensure that docket entries are accurate
- Assist in the investigation of docket issues
- Respond to procedural inquiries from attorneys
- Participate in quality control and review of docket data entry
- Participate in data clean up initiatives
- Research court case information to maintain an accurate record
- Abide by court rules on how to electronically file documents in federal court using the cm/ecf system. When needed, file documents electronically after hours.
- e-File documents in state and appellate courts
- Assist with special projects as assigned by the regional coordinator and the Director and Managing Attorney, Docket
- Answer procedural questions related to date calculations and filing requirements
