• Location: Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days remote) – Sacramento, CA 95814
• Parking: Not provided

• Duration: Likely through mid-to-late September
• Hours: 40 hours per week; overtime may be required as needed
• Schedule: 8:30 AM-5:30 PM or 9:00 AM-6:00 PM, with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break
• Pay: $40-$45/hour, depending on experience
• Reports To: Senior Docket Manager
• Client Interview Process: For those selected, the interview process will begin with a brief phone screen with the firm. Candidates who advance from that stage will then participate in a video interview with the team.

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of litigation docketing experience, ideally as a dedicated Docket Specialist in a law firm environment
• *Candidates whose docketing experience was part of a broader legal support role will also be considered if they possess strong CompuLaw experience, rules-based docketing knowledge, and experience researching court rules and court dockets
• Prior experience working in a law firm environment is preferred
• CompuLaw experience is required
• Experience researching court dockets is required
• Proficient with rules-based docketing
• Proficient in electronic court filing in state and/or federal courts is required; candidates with experience in only one court system are still encouraged to apply
• Ability to interpret and analyze information
• Sound judgment and confidence in decision-making, including the ability to identify issues, determine when escalation is necessary, and proactively communicate with attorneys and case teams
• Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Computer proficient with advanced skills in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook) required

Overview:

As a Litigation Docket Specialist, you will be responsible for processing requests, entering deadlines in the Firm’s docketing system, preparing reports, and answering procedural questions. You will also contribute to e-filings, court runs, opening mail, and assisting the team with workload. In this position, you will be part of a regional and national docketing team that provides support to the firm’s Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Francisco, Seattle, and other domestic offices.

On any given day, you will be working with your colleagues on a variety of requests and projects. You will:

• Log and process all docket requests, using the firm’s docketing software
• Log and process all transactional docketing requests, including for the Real Estate and Corporate practice groups
• Respond to case teams to ensure that docket entries are accurate
• Assist in the investigation of docket issues
• Respond to procedural inquiries from attorneys
• Participate in quality control and review of docket data entry
• Participate in data clean up initiatives
• Research court case information to maintain an accurate record
• Abide by court rules on how to electronically file documents in federal court using the cm/ecf system. When needed, file documents electronically after hours.
• e-File documents in state and appellate courts
• Assist with special projects as assigned by the regional coordinator and the Director and Managing Attorney, Docket
• Answer procedural questions related to date calculations and filing requirements
