We are seeking a seasoned Director of Pharmacy to lead our organization’s efforts to build in-house pharmacy rebate and drug discount capabilities. This role will own the full lifecycle of pharmacy rebate strategy-from drug list validation and rebate modeling to negotiation and payment-while managing PBM contracts and financial outcomes.
You will collaborate cross-functionally across finance, actuarial, legal, and pharmacy teams and serve as a key liaison to external vendors including PBMs and drug manufacturers. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in PBM economics, contract strategy, and supply chain management, with experience at a leading PBM or healthcare consultancy.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead strategy and execution of pharmacy rebates, network discounts, and PBM operations.

Manage PBM and supply chain contracts, vendor relationships, and rebate performance.

Oversee rebate forecasting, contract compliance, and financial reconciliation processes.

Translate rebate economics into strategic insights for senior leadership.

Collaborate with internal teams (Finance, IT, Legal, PMO, Pharmacy) to ensure operational alignment.

Develop and present cost-saving strategies tied to formulary design and drug pricing models.

Guide the long-term roadmap to reduce dependency on external PBMs.
Qualifications Required:

8+ years of experience in pharmacy supply chain, PBM contracting, rebate strategy, or pharmacy economics.

3+ years in a leadership or management role.

Strong knowledge of rebate modeling, financial forecasting, and vendor negotiation.

Direct experience working at or with PBMs, drug manufacturers, or healthcare consultancies.

Deep understanding of commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid pharmacy operations.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Supply Chain Management, or related field OR in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
Preferred:

MBA or other graduate-level business degree.

Experience in specialty pharmacy and retail/mail channel mapping.

Exposure to actuarial or statistical modeling.
