Requirements
- Associate’s degree in a laboratory science or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- HT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP) certification required
- Minimum 6 months+ of histology or related laboratory experience
- Knowledge of CLIA regulations and laboratory safety standards
Job Duties
- Accession and gross tissue specimens and prepare samples for processing
- Perform embedding, microtomy, and slide preparation for microscopic examination
- Execute routine and special staining procedures, including immunohistochemistry (IHC)
- Operate and maintain histology laboratory equipment; perform basic troubleshooting
- Monitor quality control, documentation, and compliance with regulatory standards (CLIA, OSHA)
- Review prepared slides for quality and escalate abnormalities as needed
- Maintain inventory of reagents, chemicals, and supplies, ensuring proper storage and usage
