Residential Support Specialist
Location: Greater Boston Area (On-Site)
Job Summary
Seeking a Residential Support Specialist to support adults experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, and substance use disorders within a residential setting. This individual will help maintain a safe environment, provide direct support to residents, and respond to crisis situations while working as part of a collaborative team.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain a safe and supportive residential environment.
- Respond to resident concerns, behavioral incidents, and crisis situations.
- Provide support using person-centered and trauma-informed approaches.
- Complete documentation and communicate important updates to staff.
- Connect residents with available community resources and services.
- Attend required meetings and trainings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience working with individuals facing behavioral health, substance use, housing instability, or related challenges.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage crisis situations and de-escalate conflict.
- Dependable and able to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- LADC, CADC, or similar certification.
- Experience with harm reduction, motivational interviewing, or trauma-informed care.
