Residential Support Specialist

Location: Greater Boston Area (On-Site)

Job Summary

Seeking a Residential Support Specialist to support adults experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, and substance use disorders within a residential setting. This individual will help maintain a safe environment, provide direct support to residents, and respond to crisis situations while working as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain a safe and supportive residential environment.
• Respond to resident concerns, behavioral incidents, and crisis situations.
• Provide support using person-centered and trauma-informed approaches.
• Complete documentation and communicate important updates to staff.
• Connect residents with available community resources and services.
• Attend required meetings and trainings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience working with individuals facing behavioral health, substance use, housing instability, or related challenges.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to manage crisis situations and de-escalate conflict.
• Dependable and able to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• LADC, CADC, or similar certification.
• Experience with harm reduction, motivational interviewing, or trauma-informed care.
