Senior Zendesk Systems Engineer
Must Haves
- 5+ years of hands-on Zendesk administration and platform ownership experience
- Strong experience configuring and supporting Zendesk in large-scale production environments
- Deep expertise with Zendesk triggers, automations, workflows, SLAs, routing, macros, forms, fields, and business rules
- Strong JavaScript experience for Zendesk customization, applications, and platform enhancements
- Python scripting experience for integrations, automation, and operational tooling
- Experience building and supporting integrations using Zendesk APIs, REST APIs, and webhooks
- Experience with Zendesk Analytics, reporting, dashboards, and operational metrics
- Proven experience leading platform enhancements, implementations, migrations, and configuration projects
- Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and production support experience
- Ability to translate business requirements into scalable Zendesk solutions
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and drive initiatives with minimal oversight
Nice to Have
- Zendesk Certified Administrator certification
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale Zendesk environments
- Experience with SSO, SAML, OAuth, OIDC, RBAC, and identity management
- Experience integrating Zendesk with CRM, ITSM, HRIS, or analytics platforms
- Agile, Jira, version control, and DevOps experience
Responsibilities
- Own and support the Zendesk platform, ensuring reliability, performance, and operational excellence
- Design and implement Zendesk configurations, workflows, automations, routing rules, and business processes
- Build and maintain integrations using Zendesk APIs, webhooks, JavaScript, and Python
- Lead platform enhancements, migrations, upgrades, and feature implementations
- Develop dashboards, reporting solutions, and analytics to support business operations
- Troubleshoot complex platform issues and drive root cause resolution
- Establish platform standards, governance processes, and operational best practices
- Partner with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions
- Mentor team members and provide guidance on Zendesk architecture and best practices
